Getting found on Google
What if you built a website and no one found it – not even Google?
A lot of home care agencies are likely wondering how they can get found on Google.
When your website is a lost sheep in the search world, it makes you think of the saying “what if a tree fell in a forest and no one heard it.”
That’s what we found with a home care agency’s website in Chicago which didn’t even come up for a search under their own name and city.
We are helping Top Priority HomeCare’s online footprint.
We’ve researched the way home care agencies market their services. And this is what we’ve found that the best home care agencies are using.

Google-blind
As you can see in the screenshot above, our new client’s website address did not even show up on Google. You can see the company, Top Priority HomeCare in the Google My Business sidebar. Google retrieved this information from other listing sources.
Why didn’t Google know about their website when it had been up for two years? Alas, the search giant didn’t even know what the website address was.
No one told Google about it
Even the all-seeing Google has to be told about a website property. We at Savvy Senior Marketing were asked by Top Priority HomeCare to help out. Our job was to help Google find this lost sheep according to best practices. And also to make their website more of a marketing machine.
First of all, we discovered that the word Chicago was not on their website, nor was any street address. So we began making changes to content, contact information, and added images. We made sure there were metatags such as title, description, and so on. And we are in the process of claiming their Google My Business listing, which will include their website address, images and other information.
Getting found on Google
Turning a home care website into a sales funnel is more than just enhancing it with search engine optimization (SEO). Of course, the first step is to get found on Google. Then you need certain marketing basics such as personalizing the business, having obvious calls to action, testimonials, and having easy to reach contact information. We zeroed in all of these in a few days.
First of all we added an “About Us” page explaining the history of the company. Also a coronavirus/COVID-19 page to make it relevant. We added content to just about every page, as well as a map of the Chicago neighborhood where the home care neighborhood was located.
And of course, an all-important step is to claim your listing on Google My Business.
All of this adds up to getting found online and then getting more clients. This example involves a simple website, but it can work well as a marketing platform when you take the proper first steps. See the website at Top Priority HomeCare.
